Sriwijaya Air joins Commsoft’s growing worldwide base of OASES users

9th June 2015 -Commsoft, a world leader in aviation engineering and maintenance systems, is pleased to announce that the Indonesian airline, Sriwijaya Air, has signed a 20 concurrent users, 5-year contract to use OASES for the ongoing maintenance of its fleet of 38 Boeing 737 Classic and 737-800s. The contract also covers Sriwijaya Air’s subsidiary, Nam Air which is currently operating five Boeing 737-500s.

Sriwijaya Air, based at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Jakarta, was founded in 2003 and is now the third largest scheduled airline in Indonesia, operating an extensive domestic route network as well as some regional services. The initial OASES implementation will concentrate on Sriwijaya Air’s ten Boeing 737-800s, a number which is expected to grow as new aircraft are introduced to replace the older 737-400s and -300s. The second implementation phase will concentrate on remaining 737-500s within the fleet.

Commsoft’s flagship product, OASES is a ‘best-of-breed’ MRO IT system which offers an industry-leading technical sophistication whilst being intuitively user-friendly. To allow for scalability, OASES is structured in a modular format and Sriwijaya Air has selected the following modules: Core, Airworthiness, Planning, Materials, Line Maintenance Control and Warranty. The contract also covers the further development of crew licensing functionality.

Nick Godwin, Commsoft Managing Director, commented:
“We’re delighted that Sriwijaya Air has chosen OASES against strong competition. This is an important win for Commsoft in a very dynamic Indonesian airline market and one that will help us build our position in the fast-growing Asia Pacific region, following major successes in other regions. We’re very much looking forward to working closely with Sriwijaya Air and their subsidiary, Nam Air, to ensure a prompt and successful implementation.”

Ananta Widjaja, Technical Director of Sriwijaya Air commented: “We are committed to safeguarding our brand as the most reliable and trusted name in Indonesia and the regional airline market. While we are part of rapid growth, we need to ensure our back-office processes are able to run efficiently. After a thorough evaluation, OASES met all of our core requirements for a maintenance solution that could deliver the right mix of innovation, simplicity and comprehensive information provider, keeping us as a leader at very competitive market.”
