Aigle Azur, the 2nd largest French scheduled airline, just entered into a partnership with the company OpenAirlines.

As part of this agreement, Aigle Azur is now using SkyBreathe® Fuel Efficiency, a software solution that allows airlines to get important fuel savings on all their fleet. This innovative software solution allows airlines to save between 1 to 4% on their fuel consumption.

SkyBreathe® Fuel Efficiency, is the result of five years of R&D, part of it being conducted within the scope of Clean Sky project CARING.

The solution relies on innovative algorithms that can very quickly analyze the data from the flight data recorders (the black boxes) to propose targeted recommendations on fuel efficiency. OpenAirlines also provides consulting and continuous monitoring of the improvements.

With SkyBreathe® Fuel Efficiency, OpenAirlines was awarded the « 2013 Sustainable Development Trophy » by La Melee association and the Toulouse Midi Pyrenee Chamber of Commerce.

With this partnership, Aigle Azur intends to reduce its carbon footprint and strengthen its commitment to sustainable development.
