Rolls-Royce’s involvement in data analytics goes back to 1999, with the creation of a specialist joint venture between Rolls-Royce and Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC). The aim of this partnership was to bring the best of engineering and IT applications together. Today, fully owned and integrated within the Group, we support all its markets with a focus on the Aerospace sector.

Today, in the aerospace sector only, over 1,300 customers are benefiting from our Data Services globally. Through our EHM services, we monitor around 10,000 engines, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, analysing billions of data points on-board per flight, and millions every day on the ground.

Visium™ is Rolls-Royce’s suite of intelligent software, that collect data from multiple sources, including engine equipment, to analyse it, using highly advanced analytical modelling techniques, and to recommend any appropriate action that is needed to ensure optimum operation. Complementing the Rolls-Royce’s TotalCare® Service Solutions of Maintenance, Availability, Efficiency and Asset Value, our data services cover a wide range of applications; from fuel efficiency, fleet and emissions management, to equipment health management and safety, quality and risk management.

FUEL (Fuel Efficiency Management) allows airlines to understand the complex interactions between fuel efficiency measures and wider operational decisions. Using all available data sources, the solution helps improve the effectiveness of initiatives and establishes the best balance of return on investment for prospective fuel-saving opportunities.

EMISSIONS (Emissions Monitoring and Reporting) supports the reporting requirements of the EU Emissions Trading Scheme by producing EU ETS compliance reports using trusted information from consolidated fuel and operational data.

DIAGNOSTIC (Equipment Health Management) ensures that aviation operators receive the maximum benefits from their operational data, leading to a more efficient maintenance operation and reduced down time.

AQD (Safety, Quality and Risk Management) enables organisations to efficiently and cost-effectively implement and maintain a world-class Safety Management System that meets ICAO, IATA and national airworthiness authority guidelines.
